Cavity Drain Membranes

In Basement construction or refurbishment, cavity drain membranes provide an alternative to conventional cementitious tanking systems, which work by holding the water back. Internal cavity drain membranes work on the principal of allowing water to continue to penetrate the structure but control it in the air gap and divert it to a suitable drainage point. They do not allow pressure to build up against the internal construction and the air gap behind the membrane allows the structure to breathe and to extent to dry out. The membranes are loose laid on floors and fixed to walls using special plugs and sealing materials, with little or no preparation required to the substrate. Once the membrane has been fitted, wall surfaces can be screeded or a floating dry board system installed. External cavity drain membranes provide a drainage and protective layer to the primary waterproofing system.

CM3 Waterproofing Membrane

CM3 Waterproofing Membrane is suitable for type 'C' (drained protection) structural concrete constructions in accordance with BS 8102.

When used for waterproofing basement floors and walls it is recommended that perimeter drainage channels are provided to optimise the flow of ground water towards the sump location.

CM3 Waterproofing Membrane is used in a dry lining application. Various systems can be used in the head of the fixing plug, from timber battens to steel dry lining systems.

CM3 Mesh Waterproofing Membrane

CM3 Mesh Membrane is a water resistant membrane with studs forming a regular pattern on one face of the roll, and polypropylene mesh on the other side. It is tough but pliable and can be easily cut with a sharp blade to the correct size. Suitable for use above and below ground and can be rendered, plastered or dot and dab boarded on top.

CM3 mesh membrane

  • High performance bonded mesh
  • Part of a Type C Cavity Drain Membrane System in line with BS8102:2009
  • Waterproof, salt inhibiting, root and contaminant resistant
  • Creates a dry, habitable living space in area previously suffering from damp/wet conditions
  • Easily cut down using a sharp blade
  • Easy to fold around windows and doors
  • Quick to install - minimal preparation needed to wall surfaces
  • No drying out process - redecoration can occur immediately
  • Little or no damage to the existing structure

CM8 Dry lining Membrane

CM8 membrane is suitable for type 'C' (drained protection) structural concrete constructions in accordance with BS 8102.

When used for waterproofing basement floors and wall it is recommended that perimeter drainage channels are provided to optimise the flow of ground water towards the sump location.

CM8 waterproofing membrane is used in a dry lining application. Various systems can be used in the head of the fixing plug, from timber battens to steel dry lining systems.

  • Creates a dry, habitable living space in area previously suffering from damp/wet conditions
  • Waterproof, salt inhabiting, root and contaminant resistant
  • Quick to install - minimal preparation needed to wall surfaces
  • Easy to fold around windows and doors
  • Easily cut down using a sharp blade
  • No drying out process - redecoration can occur immediately
  • Little or no damage to the existing structure
  • Low and high temperature tolerance
  • Part of a Type C Cavity Drain Membrane System in line with BS8102:2009
  • Clear for easy application and fixing of plugs

Roll Size: 2m x 20m

CM8 Mesh Waterproofing Membrane

CM8 Mesh Membrane is a versatile membrane which incorporates a tough HDPE mesh lathing welded to the front face to allow the direct application of various plaster finishes or adhesive ‘dabs’ and plasterboard. Large 8mm studs provide excellent drainage and ventilation capacity, making CM8 Mesh the choice of professionals for basement and cellar conversions.

CM8 Mesh is suitable for waterproofing in accordance with BS8102:2009 to provide Type ‘C’ drained protection to structures below ground, giving a Grade 3 or 4 dry environment that is suitable for domestic and commercial use.

In basements, it is essential that CM8 Mesh is used in conjunction with a suitable sump and pump facility (unless passive drainage is available).

  • High performance bonded mesh
  • Part of a Type C Cavity Drain Membrane System in line with BS8102:2009
  • Waterproof, salt inhibiting, root and contaminant resistant
  • Creates a dry, habitable living space in areas previously suffering from damp/wet conditions
  • Easily cut down using a sharp blade
  • Easy to fold around windows and doors
  • Quick to install - minimal preparation needed to wall surfaces
  • No drying out process - redecoration can occur immediately
  • Little or no damage to the existing structure

CM8 Geotex Drainage Membrane

Typically used to isolate and protect the basement structure from surrounding  soil and relieve hydrostatic pressure by promoting the flow of ground water away from the face of the structure. The Geotexile drainage membrane provides excellent protection from root penetration and can also increase the structures thermal insulation.

CM8 Geotex Drainage Membrane

  • Suitable for use with all construction types
  • Drains off water before reaching the waterproofing coating
  • Combined drainage and protection board
  • Easy handling, rapid installation
  • Rugged, durable construction with thermal insulation benefits
  • Filtration layer prevents silting up
  • High drainage capacity
  • Allows back-filling with excavated earth
  • Withstands stress and movement in the background

Roll Size: 2m x 20m

CM20 Floor Drainage Membrane

This waterproofing membrane is the highest drainage capacity membrane in the

CM range, giving a void number of 14 litres/m². Suitable for use on floors and walls in very wet situations, or where a large stud height is needed to maximise insulation values.

  • Waterproof, salt inhabiting, root and contaminate resistant
  • Quick installation process
  • Internal load bearing walls can be built on the membrane once creed is added
  • High water movement capacity
  • Various floor finishes can be used on top of the membrane
  • Can be used with multiple drainage systems
  • Can be used with all insulation floor systems.
